This is a transparent polyurethane resin from Smooth-on that is best used for the production of transparent parts of mock-ups, prototype products and jewellery casting.

Easy to process, as the two components are to be mixed in 1: 1 %.by volume.

It sticks easily to other polyurethane resins in our webshop.
It is relatively rigid with 72 Shore hardness but still slightly elastic.

Therefore, it can make moulds with other high-stiff polyurethane. Making a mould from this resin is quite useful. The transparency lets you observe the resin flow and ensure that all cavities are filled in with the resin.

An advantage of the transparency is that an exact colouring, the replication of the same colour, can be standardised

Adding a smaller amount of colour can make colourful yet translucent pieces. With this, you can cast jewellery stones in various interesting colour effects.

Applying an appropriate vacuuming casting technique, you can produce even bubble-free pieces. (Cheap hand vacuum pumps are available in our webshop.)

Compared to epoxy, it has the advantage that it hardens faster (in a matter of hours) and so is more productive.

However, it does not reach the hardness and scratch resistance of the epoxy. The ornaments and elements keep their original quality only if not exposed to frictional impacts.
